We want to assure you that our clay, paints, and sealants meet UK, EU, and US fire safety standards, including EN 15493:2019, EN 15426:2018, ASTM F 2417-23, and ASTM F 2601-18. Safety is super important to us, so just like with any open flame, we recommend keeping candles away from pets and little ones. No need to preheat! To avoid cracking, set your oven to 150°C (300°F), immediately place your painted ceramics inside, and let it bake for 30 minutes. Ensure the paint is completely dry beforehand—usually about 30 minutes air-drying. This method protects your ceramic’s design for long-lasting vibrancy after multiple uses and washes.

Yes, it is! Our ceramics and paints are tested to strict UK/EU safety standards, including EN71 for child safety and BS 6748 for food use. Just be sure not to paint the rim or the inside of the mug, as noted in our instructions. The ceramics are pre-fired and home-oven baking won’t affect their safety when used as directed.
