Hi I’m Clayton, your creative muse. Sit me on your desk or a nearby shelf as a reminder to be kind to yourself, and to make a little more time for mindful creativity.
All about Clayton
My story actually begins during the strange old days of the global pandemic, people were more idle, and many of us tried our hand at new things to pass the time that didn't involve scrolling on a screen.
I started as a lump of air dry clay, a cast-off on the pile of many tried and tested creative activities in the corner. But one day, they came back to me. They decided they quite liked the soft feel of clay in their hands, that they zoned out from the world when working with me, and became mindful during the hours of cosy crafting. I could become anything that they wanted me to be, they just had to imagine it.
I was laughed at to begin with, a little wonky, with one leg longer than the other, and an eye that looked more like a nose, but that didn’t last long. Quickly I became a symbol of the perfectly imperfect. I was a sense of achievement, a finished product of hours of creative effort, a collaborative effort, proudly sitting pride of place in a home that was suddenly full of love and joy having been dark for so long.
They knew right away that they shouldn’t keep me to themselves, that this joyful craft was meant to be spread to other homes. So Pott’d was born, and I, now known as Clayton (and a little more refined and smooth round the edges) danced my way between homes to inspire creativity through trial and error, with the goal of encouraging crafting to those who may not have ever considered themselves creative, and making it as accessible as possible.
So that’s why I’m here, talking to you, because you are one of us. You look for the joy in life, you see the potential in things that others may not, you know that there’s no such thing as failure, that when it comes to crafting, the process is as enjoyable as the outcome. 🤗✨
